About
Firebrand.
Firebrand Initiative is a Christ-centered mentorship and discipleship movement for men, based in Mesa, Arizona, and founded by Justin Dewing. It trains men spiritually, mentally, physically and emotionally, through three levels of mentorship, the monthly Firebrand Intensive and a free online community. Jesus is the one who transforms a man. Firebrand’s job is to train and equip him.
The Firebrand story
Tired. Beat down.
Aimless.
Too many men are living tired, beat down and aimless. They feel the weight of life, but not the fire of purpose.
They’ve been told to settle, to numb out, to blend in, but something inside them knows they were created for more. Firebrand exists to call these men back to life: to wake them up, and to pull them out of apathy and into purpose.
The vision: Ignite men with the fire of Christ. No limits. No restraints. No excuses.
The mission: to train and equip men in body, mind, spirit and soul to become warriors for Christ. Not a program. A brotherhood, a training ground and a launching pad, raising up disciples who multiply disciples.
A biblical word
Pulled out
of the fire.

A brand plucked from the fire
A firebrand is a burning stick pulled out of the fire before it’s consumed. “Is not this a brand plucked out of the fire?” (Zechariah 3:2). “Ye were as a firebrand plucked out of the burning” (Amos 4:11). Jesus does the pulling out.

A man who carries it
The word has a second sense, printed on the back of the Firebrand shirt: a person passionate about a particular cause, inciting change and taking radical action. That’s the man Firebrand trains, sent back in to carry the fire home, to work and to the men beside him.
How men are trained
Brought
close.
Jesus didn’t start with a curriculum. He “ordained twelve, that they should be with him” (Mark 3:14).
Firebrand works the same way. Men aren’t handed information and left alone with it. They’re brought close: weekly calls with Justin (and at 1-on-1, voice notes and messages), brothers who know their name and their struggle, and a monthly weekend in one house. Isolation is where men stay stuck. Proximity is where they get sharpened.

The founder
Justin
Dewing
On a mountaintop in 2017, Jesus set Justin free from drugs, cigarettes, alcohol and pornography. He sold his business to do this full-time.
He leads every level of mentorship, reads every application and leads every Intensive. In his words, he’s going after the men he used to be just like.

Firebrand is a mentorship and discipleship movement, not a church. The Intensive application asks which local church you’re connected to. And this isn’t about politics.
What is Firebrand Initiative?
Firebrand Initiative is a Christ-centered mentorship and discipleship movement for men, based in Mesa, Arizona, and founded by Justin Dewing. It trains men spiritually, mentally, physically and emotionally through three levels of mentorship, the monthly Firebrand Intensive in Paradise Valley, Arizona, and a free online community. Jesus transforms. Firebrand equips.
Who is Firebrand for?
Christian men who believe in Jesus but are tired of staying stuck in the same cycles: men who want real structure, brotherhood and accountability, and are willing to be challenged and corrected. It isn’t for the man who wants to stay comfortable, or who wants grace without repentance.
Where is Firebrand based?
Firebrand Initiative is based in Mesa, Arizona. Mentorship runs on weekly calls, with voice notes and messages added at the 1-on-1 level. The Firebrand Intensive is held in person at a private home in Paradise Valley, Arizona.
Is Firebrand counseling or therapy?
No. Firebrand is Christian mentorship and discipleship, not licensed counseling. The Intensive application asks whether you’re in counseling, a recovery program or a discipleship relationship. If you are in crisis, call or text 988 in the US.
Do I need to be a Christian?
Firebrand is built on Jesus and written for men who believe in Him. The Intensive application asks how long you’ve been saved, about your baptism and your local church, so Justin can see where you are.
What is the FIRE Framework?
The FIRE Framework is how Firebrand trains men: Faith as the foundation, Identity anchored in Christ, Resilience to endure and overcome, and Execution that turns discipline into action.
